Navos Mental Health Solutions Inpatient Services provides 24-hour, 7 days per week care for persons living with mental illness who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and need stabilization in order to reintegrate into the community. The hospital staff members take pride in being kind, caring, and going the extra mile. Position Summary: We are currently hiring for a Day Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) RN for our inpatient services. Registered Nurses provide safe and therapeutic care and coordination of services through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for managing the assigned nursing unit(s) on a shift basis to provide safe, efficient and quality patient care. Implement unit programs to meet specific patient care needs. Accountable for making assignments, overseeing completion and documentation of same; and/or providing follow-up of all nursing procedures and staff clinical assignments. Assist Nurse Manager in supervising unit staff by providing direct supervision with regard to attendance and shift assignments; completing annual performance evaluations; and providing input to Nurse Manager regarding hiring, termination, and disciplinary action. Educate staff regarding hospital policies and procedures and ensure compliance with same. Effectively communicate and interface with other departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Professional interest and commitment to working with the mentally ill and in the development of care systems for the mentally ill. Knowledge of Involuntary Treatment System. Must be able to work in an interdisciplinary setting, according respect to others based on knowledge and experience, as well as discipline. Tolerant of the stress of an acute psychiatric care setting. Demonstration of leadership traits, good organizational skills, strong clinical and assessment skills. Able to appropriately interact with patients demonstrating sensitivity, tact and respect; as well as setting and maintaining boundaries. Knowledge of theories of human behavior, personality development and psychological and physical cause of mental disorders. Knowledge of principles and techniques of group and individual therapy; understanding of principles and methods of intervention. Familiarity with Washington Administrative Code regulations and professional standards governing the treatment of mentally ill patients.
Education, Experience, and Certification: Washington State License as a Registered Nurse. Two or more years experience in psychiatric nursing required and one year experience in an acute care setting preferred. One year experience as a supervisor preferred. Must meet the minimum qualification of a Mental Health Professional as per WAC 275.55. Current CPR.
Physical Abilities: Patient care delivery involves lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength. Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required without assistance.
Compensation: Starts at $24.77 per hour, plus shift differentials
