Professional Resource Network is currently looking for RNs to work weekends in the Woodbury area. Experience is preferred. References are required and background checks are performed. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION BELOW
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota.
2. Holds a valid Driver's License.
3. U.S. citizenship or evidence of a valid alien work permit.
4. One year current adult medical-surgical experience preferred.
5. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, tolerate prolonged standing, bending and kneeling positions.
6. Trained in skills necessary to provide nursing care to a wide variety of medical conditions including, but not limited to: tracheostomy, gastric tube, and ventilator-dependent clients.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports directly to the Case Manager or the Director of Nursing.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to accurately assess clients and communicate client condition clearly with physicians and family. Must provide on-going client and family teaching regarding client condition, medication, and treatment. Must maintain good rapport with clients, families, and physicians.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Potentially unsafe and unsanitary home environments. Potential travel in inclement weather.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Driving or riding in a motor vehicle. Must be able to lift, bend, and stretch; climb stairs and negotiate difficult pathways in and about client's homes; support clients in standing, sitting, transferring and walking; carry light objects, i.e., equipment and supplies, lift and support client's extremities while giving care; turn clients and move furniture. Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 325 pounds utilizing an assistive device. Must also be able to see, hear, and speak without limitations for accurate verbal and written communication.
Supervised by the Case Manager or the Director of Nursing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs initial and on-going evaluation and assessment of client's needs.
2. Develops a plan of care and revises it as necessary.
3. Re-evaluates/updates each plan of care on a regular basis to reflect changes in client condition.
4. Implements the plan of care, rendering skilled nursing care and maintaining coordination of care among the other health team members/community agencies involved.
5. Informs agency Case Manager and other health team members of changes in client condition.
6. Informs the primary physician and other health team members of changes in the client's condition.
7. Performs skilled nursing care and treatments in a competent manner in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing RN standards of nursing practice.
8. Demonstrates initiative and skills in planning and organizing work.
9. Completes client medical record documentation in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
10. Performs and documents client and family teaching of treatments, medications, plan of care, disease process, etc.
11. Prepares necessary documentation for third party reimbursement on a timely basis.
12. Works with other nursing personnel as appropriate.
13. Supervises non-licensed personnel as appropriate.
14. Supervises and instructs other nursing personnel as appropriate. Participates in on-call responsibilities as directed, assuring timely and appropriate nursing interventions as needed.
15. Assists with orientation of new personnel.
16. Safeguards equipment and supplies.
17. Participates in staff meetings, in-services, and case conferences.
18. Provide evidence of current BLS certification (CPR) in accordance with Professional Resource Network Inc.'s policy.
19. Knows and follows correct procedures in both non-emergency medical situations and emergency situations, i.e., cardiac arrest, fire.
20. Demonstrates interpersonal understanding and utilizes effective communication skills.
21. Demonstrates communication skills (hear, see, speak) for effective communication with client, family and care team.
22. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed.
23. Completes CEU, employment, and licensure requirements in a timely manner to maintain nursing and employment criteria.
24. Protects and maintains client and co-worker confidentiality.
25. Able to consistently perform physical requirements of the job (lifting, bending, standing, transferring, equipment, etc.). Location: Woodbury
