Experienced Bilingual LVN/RN Needed for Rheumatology practice (Texas Medical & Surgical Assoc. (7523

Local Rheumatologist seeking professional, organized, efficient, responsible individual with 5 or more years' experience for the below LVN/RN position in his office:
Position Summary:
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining electronic and paper medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
Tasks:
1. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
2. Help physician examine and treat patients, handing him instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
3. Perform other post-op examinations or in-office procedures such as drain or splint removal and allergy testing.
4. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
5. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician (complete vitals assessment, etc).
6. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
7. Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
8. Manage supplies and maintain patient rooms.
9. Obtain insurance authorization for surgery and imaging.
10. Answer/Return patient phone calls, noting conversation in patient chart, advising physician of calls that should be directed to him based on set standards in office
12. Complete/Send in refill requests for patients.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
1. The physical demands of this position require frequent standing, walking, sitting, carrying, talking, and hearing.
2. The environmental conditions of the position require rare exposure to any condition.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position requires no direct supervision of other positions.
Experience And Education: Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school; 5 or more years experience in a medical office.
Licensing: Current State Certification, CPR Certification, and ACLS Certification. Location: Texas Medical & Surgical Assoc. (75231)
