DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Makes physical assessments, such as height, weight, vital signs, etc. Assess medical histories. Performs clinical testing, such as urinalysis, serology, and eye examination. Evaluates illness/injuries and administers treatment as instructed. Follows oral and written Center Physician and Dentist orders. Assists in physical examinations. Schedules appointments for students with appropriate medical/dental personnel. Assesses emergencies and initiates proper treatment and/or action. Conducts a monthly inventory of supplies and equipment and submits it to the Manager of Wellness by the first of each month. Maintains good order and discipline in the Health Services facility. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required. Two years of nursing experience in an institutional setting required. Experience in a hospital setting desired. Public Health experience acceptable.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organization skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Classroom instruction and curriculum development. Must be confidential. A Valid Driver's License is required.EOE/M/F/V/H
