Summer Camp Nurse (Salmon/McCall Idaho)

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Age: 21;
Registered nurse in the State of Idaho;
At least one year of camp experience or related field;
Ability to view all operations with the health, safety and satisfaction of campers as the first priority;
Ability to drive, with a current license acceptable to the State of Idaho;
Knowledge of the Girl Scout program;
Willingness to be a representative of Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council and promote the ideals of the organization as denoted in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
General Responsibilities:
To coordinate and supervise all aspects of the day to day camp health services to meet the American Camp Association (ACA) standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service camp training to prepare the staff and the site to best serve the camper's, volunteer's and staff's health care needs;
Dispense daily medications to campers and staff according to ACA standards;
Know, practice and carry out the council emergency procedures in relation to the camp site and safety of all campers, volunteers, and staff;
Ensure Health Care Center and camp first aid kits are properly stocked and maintained and each Camp Counselor has first aid kits.
Keep accurate health care records including: daily health logs, medication reports, camper health cards, etc.
Conduct an inventory of program supplies at the start and end of the camp season and ensure supplies are stored properly;
Other duties assigned as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Ability to communicate and work with groups participating and provide necessary instruction to campers;
Ability to use office equipment, order supplies, drive to pick up supplies and to transport campers and staff in case of emergency;
Ability to communicate and train staff to carry out their health care roles in the camp setting;
Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, asses its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply the proper health care techniques;
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the camp setting. Location: Salmon/McCall Idaho
Compensation: $375-425 week/Incl. room and board
