Registered Nurse
NARA NW is an Indian-owned and operated Private, Non-Profit, that provides culturally appropriate education, physical and mental health services, and substance abuse treatment to American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable people.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to serve in the areas of triage in the clinic on a rotation basis, assist in the coordination of the day-to-day activities for the cessation program and nutritional services to clients and patients. This position is responsible for cessation, tobacco/diabetes prevention and education presentations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide triage care for NARA clinic: telephone calls, walk-ins and appointment consultations.
• Coordination of Tobacco cessation and diabetes activities for individual and groups.
• Responsible for referral, tracking, data entry and follow up for cessation/diabetes services.
• Coordinate the referral flow for all patient cessation/diabetes services.
• Coordinate Tobacco/Diabetes program activities.
• Chart and maintain medical records as needed and required by regulations.
• Communicate with medical provider team on pharmaceutical needs of clients.
• Participate in the ordering of supplies and pharmaceuticals for program.
• Participate in development and implementation of Quality Assurance procedures as needed.
• Participate in meetings with local, state, county, and tribal organizations.
• Coordinate the community education and outreach activities.
• Prepare necessary reports for Tobacco/Diabetes Program.
• Ensure all services delivered are culturally appropriate.
• Participate and on occasion facilitates weekly Prevention unit meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Oregon, BSN Preferred.
• Two years experience in health care.
• Tobacco experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years sobriety/clean time for NARA employees in recovery.
• Ability for all potential hires are required to have background investigation to determine any past history of sexual and child abuse.
• Ability for all potential hires to pass pre-employment drug screen.
