Psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing is the specialty of nursing that cares for people of all ages with mental illness or mental distress, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, depression or dementia. Nurses in this area receive more training in psychological therapies, building a therapeutic alliance, dealing with challenging behavior, and the administration of psychiatric medication.
Sheridan Shores Care and Rehabilitation is looking for an ambitious, dependable nurse who has experience in documentation of psychotropic reduction. The Psychotropic Nurse will monitor use and document indications for use. The nurse must be familiar with federal and state regulations.
Nurse will also assist the DON with daily tasks, making rounds, training, providing in-services;etc.
5 years of experience preferred, but will train the right person. RN or LPN may apply. Full-time position, Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm
