The Alaska Veterans and Pioneers Home in Palmer is recruiting for a permanent full time Nurse III Position. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, this candidate will supervise other professional and nonprofessional nursing staff on the neighborhood (Unit), review the nursing care provided to geriatric residents, and provide leadership to the interdisciplinary team.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversight of resident assessment, care planning, nursing interventions, and daily staffing assignments for provision of care/services. Provides nursing leadership and direct care as needed.
Interacts with residents, families, responding to specific needs. Directs interventions as needed.
Coordinates interdisciplinary team meetings and efforts to provide prescribed treatment.
Provides input and is an active participant in quality improvement programs.
Observes performance, evaluates staff, and provides training to nursing staff within the neighborhood.
Long term care experience is preferred.
One year of Med-Surg work experience within past five (5) years is highly desirable.
