Humana is seeking a Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner for our Quality Improvement Director roles in New Orleans, LA and Atlanta, GA. This is a new role for Humana and offers highly competitive compensation in addition to relocation assistance for the right candidate. The Quality Improvement Director will facilitate and work collaboratively with region/market leaders focused on Senior Products, Commercial, and Medicaid plans to recommend and develop strategies designed to improve all aspects of quality including CMS quality performance Star ratings. Job Responsibilities * Drive the effective implementation of the Quality Operating Model across product lines. * Facilitate and collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement market focused quality improvement projects/initiatives including corporate activities targeting members and providers, assuring appropriate and timely delivery method for provider action lists, and other reports/actions as necessary. * The RN, PA, or NP acts as a conduit for communication between market operations, corporate teams and key provider groups regarding all quality improvements initiatives. * Accurately assess data, identify opportunities, and prioritize the work of the Quality Improvement Nurses based on the Quality Operating Model. * Assess daily performance/productivity of Quality Improvement Nurses and effectively facilitate performance improvements. * Create/update training delivery for Quality Improvement Nurse on-boarding and ongoing needs and learning opportunities. * Effectively provide guidance to the Quality Improvement Nurse on the best approach (based on relationship) for key provider groups. * Coordinate and collaborate with other areas within Humana to help provide support to QINs as determined. * The RN, PA, or NP must have strong analytic skills and ability to use data to drive improvement activities. * Apply leadership strength and critical thinking to short-term, mid-range, and long-term goals. * Work with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment that require great attention to detail. * Work independently under general instructions. * Communicate on Executive-level to external audiences as well as internal audiences. * Work closely with Regional Market Presidents, Medical Directors, MRA Directors, HSO Directors, Provider Relations Directors, Network Operations Directors and Corporate leadership.
Job Requirements:
Job Requirements * Experienced, progressive clinical background as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. * Registered Nurses must have Bachelor Science in Nursing. * Previous management and clinical operations experience in the managed health care industry leading teams focusing on operational improvement and performance management. * Previous utilization management as an RN, NP, or PA; hospital, or physician office clinical experience. * Strong knowledge of Stars/CMS/Quality, Provider Rewards and MRA Coding. * Experience with program implementation in a state and/or federal regulated environment. * Excellent PC skills (including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint). * Advanced degree, MBA, public health or clinical Preferred. * Three to five years of progressive experience with HEDIS data sets and related chart abstraction, CAHPS and HOS Preferred.
