Psychiatric Registered Nurse – RN – Mental Health

Brattleboro Retreat is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team in Brattleboro, Vermont. The Psychiatric Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to meet the needs of psychiatric patients requiring complex nursing care.

As a nurse at the Brattleboro Retreat you will be:

Encouraged to work side-by-side with physicians and other members of the clinical team.
Guided by the highest standards of professional practice in the field of psychiatric nursing.
Empowered to make decisions about patient care.
Additional responsibilities of the Psychiatric Registered Nurse will include:

Working with the multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. 
Completing all required documentation including: health history, progress notes, admissions, discharge planning, order entry, and transcribes and verifies all orders.
Taking responsibility for initiating and/or assisting with the coordination and preparation of admits, transfers, or discharges.
Communicating patient behavior to the multidisciplinary team.
Providing individual or group therapy and programming.
Assisting in completing individualized patient care, reviews Plan of Care with patient/patient’s family, and participating in multidisciplinary staffing.
Identifying and communicating changes in staffing requirements.
Providing patient care by administering medications and facilitating therapeutic interactions/education.
Providing clinical supervision of Mental Health Worker’s to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care.
Job Requirements

Current or eligibility for a Vermont Registered Nurse license required;
Two years of nursing experience required;
Psychiatric nursing experience preferred;
