Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico Job Type: Full-Time Profession: Registered Nurse Career Level: Experienced Experience: 5-10 years Education Level: Bachelors Degree Travel: none Job Description: Provides expert patient care, education, consultation, research and clinical leadership for the NICU healthcare team, patients and family members.  Delivers and facilitates high quality critical nursing care. Assists others in the identification and fulfillment of educational needs. Responds to requests for problem resolution based on best practices in the field. Promotes applications of research and evidence based practices in the clinical setting. Acts as a clinical resource for management and administration and responds to customer needs while enhancing image of professional nursing.  Job Requirements: Education:  BSN from an approved school/program with a major in a specific area of clinical nursing. Masters Degree Preferred. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, infant, toddler, pre-schooler, school-age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates. BLS, ACLS, and PALS and NM RN licensure required.Experience:  At least five years (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in NICU is required.  At least one (1) year as a Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.  An ability and willingness to apply nursing knowledge and skills and maintain clinical competency required within Women Services.Job Duties/Responsibilities:  Demonstrates advance knowledge in physiology and pathophysiology of field of practice.  Possesses advanced clinical competency in areas of patient assessment and in teaching procedures and equipment use, using theoretical nursing framework. Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining current knowledge and competency in areas of specialization. Demonstrates interpersonal and effective communication skills necessary to maintain good working relationships with customers.  Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in rapidly changing environments. Demonstrates ability to identify and creatively solve problem independently and cooperatively. Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate patient care delivery and related quality improvement activities. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system.
