Are you an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Nurse Practitioner who wants to practice at the top level of your profession with Alaska seniors in an interdisciplinary environment An excellent senior based Anchorage practice is seeking a Mental Health ANP Manager to provide and coordinate patient mental health care in an evidenced-based model of care, IMPACT. In particular, you will educate patients about depression, its treatment, provide behavioral activation, and monitor depressive symptoms and responses to medication and/or psychotherapy using PHQ-9. You will also work closely with the primary care provider and a consulting psychiatrist.
Practice Overview
This clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit outpatient health care clinic developed and dedicated to providing high quality outpatient medical care for seniors.
The clinic provides all health care services found in a traditional physician's office, including management of acute and chronic illnesses. The clinic is integrated with local specialists to assure continuity of care with providers. Laboratory services are on-site to help streamline services, and patient access to their electronic medical records through a secure patient portal will help patients track lab results, prescriptions and other medical information.
Position Requirements
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner must be authorized to practice in one or more of the following population focus areas: adult, geriatric, or adult psychiatric mental health and meet all the requirements, including a license to practice in the State of Alaska, of 12 AAC 44.400. Preference will be given to an adult psychiatric mental health ANP.
A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant setting and knowledge of community resources for older adults is required. Prior exposure to brief, structured counseling techniques, e.g., CBT or PST is desired.
