The Visiting Nurse Association has an opening for a manager to lead our Adult Day Program.
The VNA Adult Day Program offers social activities, healthy meals, and opportunities for adults with special needs
to meet new friends in a safe and homelike environment with nursing oversight. It also provides much needed respite
for family caregivers. In this position you will oversee a diverse group of Nurses, Licensed Nursing Assistants and
Activity Assistants. This team delivers exceptional care and customer service to individuals in our three Adult Day
Program sites. The ideal candidate is self directed and independent with the vision to guide and further build the Adult Day Program.
The functions of this position include:
 Plan, implement, and administer functions and activities of the Adult Day Program.
 Supervise, hire, train and orient site supervisors.
 Plan, request and administer the program budget including monitoring expenses, monthly billing, and the preparation of quarterly reports.
 Assist in the development and coordination of client care plans, program policies, family/caregiver support, standards of care,
and client services such as health, social service, and transportation.
 Represent the Adult Day Program to the Vermont community; provide community presentations and educational opportunities
for area college and high school students.
 Oversee the maintenance of the facility housing the program(s) and work closely with other VNA departments and services.
 Participate in fund raising activities including researching potential grants and other funding sources.
 Develop and administer appropriate program record keeping systems. Prepare various management and administrative reports.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in health or human services plus 3 to 4 years of experience working with elderly or disabled adults in a rehab setting, or a
combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
• Vermont RN licensure required.
• Broad base of knowledge and skills related to the care of the elderly including funding sources and special transportation services.
• Strong program planning, organizational, administrative, budget management and supervisory skills.
• Ability to represent the agency and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals, agencies and organizations in carrying out the
varied liaison, public information, community needs assessment, and program planning functions of the job. Location: Colchester
